DIRECT RECRUITMENT BY SELECTION

State Civil Services(Direct Recruitment by
Competitive Examination and Selections)(General) Rules, 2006
The provisions of these rules apply to all posts in Group-A Group-B, Group-C and Group-D which are to be filled by direct recruitment for which no special or general rules have been made prescribing method for such direct recruitment.
Recruitment under these rules are made on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examinations and interview for Technical Posts and on the basis of marks secured in the Competitive Examinations and interview for Non-Technicalposts.The Competitive Examinations will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice.
On receipt of the requisition from the Government/Department, Commission scrutinizes the proposals of the Government/Department with reference to the Cadre and Recruitment Rules of the Department, which govern the recruitment to such posts and also for satisfying the classification of vacancies reserved for SCs, STs and other Backward Classes.
The Commission openly advertises by a notification in the Karnataka Gazette and in the widely circulated news papers specifying the conditions of eligibility, nature of competition, provisional number of vacancies to be filled, reservation in favour of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes and all other relevant particulars.
As per these rules, to qualify for the interview, candidates have to first qualify in the Compulsory Kannada Language Examination conducted by the Commission. However candidates who have passed the SSLC examination or any examination declared as equivalent thereto by the State Government or any examination higher than the SSLC examination in which Kannada is the main language or the second language or an optional subject(but not one of the subjects in a composite paper) or if they have studied and passed in Kannada medium, or have passed the Kannada language test conducted by the Commission earlier. in accordance with these rules are exempted from passing the Compulsory Kannada Language Examination.
